Responsibilities
Regular
- Assist the team in performing month end closing activities with a primary focus on balance sheet reconciliations but also including suspense review, recurring journal posting, P/L analysis, HFM validations
Help investigate:
- intercompany mismatches, accounting issues, tax, round robin, audit confirmation, etc.
- queries from Group Finance and Management reporting team
- Assist in monthly variance analysis between actual P/L and planning for corporate entities
- Assist in the preparation of treasury reporting analysis to keep track of debt movement, foreign exchange exposure, interest revenue and expenses, cashflow, facilities, cash position, etc
Ad Hoc
- Assist in the preparation of the relevant budget and forecasted operating costs for Treasury entities
- Help to maintain CAPEX schedule for capitalised borrowing cost / bank facilities and amortisation
- Participate in conversations with Tax for tax queries, annual tax return, WHT, provision review, transfer pricing issues / reporting requirements
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements for audited entities where required
- Assist in group- and local audits for treasury reporting, annual statutory audit filings
- Assist in the Annual / Quarterly billing exercise for captive insurance and bank guarantees
- Participate in projects and process improvement initiatives as required / directed
- Assist in the annual rollover for intercompany loan principal and interest capitalization
Other Requirements
Job Specific Knowledge:
- Suitable for a graduate or someone commencing their accounting career
- More senior role would require 3-5 years relevant experience
- Desire to learn or further develop financial accounting and reporting experience and expertise in balance sheet reconciliation processes
Industry Specific Experience:
- Some knowledge of financial services, treasury products, consulting projects/processes a plus but not essential
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications Degree/Diploma in Accounting
IT/System Skills:
- Medium/Advanced Excel skills
- Familiarity with ERP and BI (Business Intelligence) environments
- Familiarity of Quantum and Hyperion advantageous but not essential
People Skills:
- Able to engage with internal customers and key stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of reporting and information requirements.
- A team player, dedicated team member with effective inter-personal skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills and pays attention to the details
- Strong deadline-driven and problem-solving mindset
