Responsibilities

• Assisting in Medical Equipment Maintenance:

  • Assist in the routine maintenance and servicing of medical equipment and devices, ensuring their proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
  • Learn to identify and troubleshoot issues with medical equipment, under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Support the calibration and testing of medical equipment to ensure accurate and reliable performance.

• Repair & Troubleshooting:

  • Assist in diagnosing and repairing malfunctions or defects in medical devices, including diagnostic imaging equipment, patient monitoring systems, and laboratory instruments.
  • Observe and assist in fault finding, analyzing the root cause of problems, and performing repairs as needed, with guidance from senior biomedical engineers.

• Documentation & Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate logs and records of maintenance activities, repairs, and calibration tests performed on medical equipment.
  • Assist in preparing reports on the condition, performance, and maintenance history of medical devices.
  • Ensure that equipment maintenance schedules and service logs are kept up-to-date and organized.

• Learning & Training:

  • Participate in on-the-job training and development activities related to biomedical engineering and medical equipment management.
  • Attend workshops, seminars, or formal training programs to improve knowledge and technical skills related to the biomedical field.
  • Learn about industry regulations, safety standards (e.g., IEC, ISO), and compliance requirements, especially in the healthcare setting.

• Health & Safety Standards Compliance:

  • Adhere to hospital or organization health, safety, and regulatory protocols in all tasks.
  • Ensure that all medical equipment meets safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, CE).
  • Follow infection control and safety guidelines when working with medical devices in patient care areas.

• Collaboration & Support:

  • Work closely with senior biomedical engineers and other healthcare teams to support equipment-related issues and ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist in conducting preventative maintenance and troubleshooting tasks as directed by senior staff.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to understand the specific needs and operational requirements of various medical devices.

• Inventory Management:

  • Assist in maintaining inventory records of medical equipment parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Ensure that the required tools and spare parts are available for repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Support the organization of the biomedical engineering workshop or storage areas.

• Continuous Improvement:

  • Actively seek feedback from senior engineers and supervisors to improve performance and technical skills.
  • Suggest improvements to existing equipment maintenance practices and protocols based on learned experiences.
  • Participate in process improvements or initiatives related to the biomedical engineering function.

• Qualification: BE/B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering | ECE | EC
• Experience: 1 year
• Skills: Hands-on knowledge of biomedical equipment.
