Responsibilities

  • System Installation & Configuration:

    • Install, configure, and maintain hospital IT systems, including servers, workstations, and network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
    • Set up and manage hospital-specific applications and software, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
    • Ensure all systems are optimized for performance, scalability, and security.
  • Network Management:

    • Manage and maintain hospital network infrastructure to ensure stable connectivity across all departments and facilities.
    • Implement and monitor network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Server & Data Management:

    • Oversee the installation and maintenance of servers (both physical and virtual) used within the hospital environment.
    • Ensure data storage, backup, and disaster recovery processes are in place and function properly.
    • Manage data security, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations regarding patient information.
  • Security & Compliance:

    • Ensure that all systems, applications, and networks comply with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
    • Monitor and address potential cybersecurity threats, ensuring systems are protected against viruses, malware, and other risks.
    • Regularly update systems and software to prevent vulnerabilities and maintain security patches.
  • Technical Support:

    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hospital staff and departments regarding hardware, software, and network issues.
    • Respond to and resolve service tickets within the designated timeframes.
    • Offer training and guidance on new systems or software being implemented.
  • System Monitoring & Performance Optimization:

    • Continuously monitor the performance of hospital IT systems to ensure their health and efficiency.
    • Conduct regular audits of hospital systems, reviewing logs, performance metrics, and potential bottlenecks.
    • Optimize system performance by identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary upgrades or adjustments.
  • Collaboration & Project Management:

    • Work closely with other hospital departments (e.g., clinical, administrative, and finance) to understand their IT needs and provide tailored solutions.
    • Lead or participate in IT-related projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and new software implementations.
    • Assist in planning and executing IT-related aspects of hospital expansions or new facilities.
  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, network maps, backup schedules, and security procedures.
    • Create and update user manuals and guides for hospital staff regarding IT systems and troubleshooting.
    • Prepare reports for management on system performance, issues, and proposed improvements.
  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:

    • Develop, implement, and regularly test disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure hospital systems can be quickly restored in case of a failure or breach.
    • Ensure backups are performed regularly and are stored securely, both on-site and off-site.
  • Vendor Management:

    • Manage relationships with third-party vendors providing IT services, hardware, and software.
    • Coordinate installation, maintenance, and support services from external vendors to ensure smooth operations.

Other Requirements

  • Have two years of hospital experience as system admin
  • To record the data of all equipment’s into the system
  • To maintain the all documentation (As per NABH & JCI and also other audit purpose)
  • Creation of incident reports in the system when the call comes from users
  • Reporting on a regular basis to management
  • To work under senior biomedical engineer and HOD
