The Manager -compliance plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization’s integrity and ensuring that all business entities within the group operate in strict adherence to relevant legal, regulatory, and internal standards. The primary objective is to oversee the group’s compliance framework, ensuring that statutory filings and submissions to government authorities are accurate, timely, and in the best interest of the organization.

This role involves identifying applicable laws, proactively assessing potential areas of non-compliance, and implementing comprehensive compliance strategies across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the organization’s full adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies across its various business divisions.
  • Oversee statutory filings and submissions to government authorities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with the company’s best interests.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive compliance procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and governmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular, systematic risk assessments to identify potential areas of noncompliance and implement preventive and corrective measures as necessary.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to facilitate organization-wide compliance, ensuring all business units operate within legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Monitor evolving regulatory environments and ensure timely updates to company policies to reflect changes in applicable laws.
  • Investigate potential breaches of compliance, providing actionable recommendations and corrective measures to mitigate risks.
  • Facilitate ongoing training and compliance awareness programs across all business units to ensure employees are well-informed about their compliance obligations. - Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance-related issues are addressed and audit recommendations are fully implemented.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure full understanding and adherence to all relevant laws and regulations applicable to each business entity within the group.
  • Risk Management: Perform ongoing risk assessments, identifying areas where the company may be vulnerable to regulatory or policy breaches.
  • Policy Implementation: Establish, review, and enforce policies and procedures to ensure all business operations are conducted in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration: Engage with key departments to promote a cohesive compliance strategy that aligns with overall business objectives.
  • Training and Development: Develop and execute regular training sessions to enhance awareness of compliance requirements across all organizational levels.
  • Reporting and Monitoring: Implement compliance monitoring systems, providing comprehensive reports to senior management on compliance performance and potential areas for improvement.
  • Remediation Actions: Lead investigations into potential compliance breaches, ensuring swift corrective action and future prevention


Other Requirements

  • Educational Background:

    Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field from a recognized institution.

    Experience

    • Demonstrable experience in compliance management within a multi-entity business environment, with strong exposure to diverse regulatory frameworks.
    • Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the legal and regulatory landscape relevant to the organization’s industries.
    • Analytical Abilities: Exceptional ability to analyse complex regulatory requirements and implement practical, effective compliance strategies.
    • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and provide clear guidance on compliance matters
    • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of statutory filings and compliance documentation.
    • Problem-Solving: Proactive in addressing compliance challenges and finding innovative solutions to mitigate risks
    • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and influence compliance-related initiatives across diverse business units and to foster a culture of ethical and regulatory compliance.
